How We Help

“The ability to call and get guidance has been a game changer for me!” ~Midwife, Fairfield County

ACCESS Mental Health for Moms is a free consultative service for all Connecticut providers working with pregnant and postpartum women, regardless of insurance. Funding for the ACCESS Mental Health for Moms program is provided by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS). Providers can call ACCESS Mental Health for Moms at 833-978-MOMS (6667) Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Psychiatric Consultation: The ACCESS Mental Health for Moms perinatal psychiatrists provide real-time consultation via the telephone. The consultation may involve diagnostic support, guidance in regards to medication treatment (when indicated), psychotherapy and community support needs, treatment planning, and medication concerns regarding preconception, pregnancy and lactation. Our perinatal psychiatrists work to assist you in addressing your patient’s mental health and/or substance use concerns. We are here as a consultative support only, we will not take on the psychiatric treatment for your patient.

Resource and Referral Support Team: After you speak to our perinatal psychiatrist and you would like us to help your patient connect to services, our resource and referral support team will work with your patient and their family directly.

Education: Our Hub team psychiatrists offer mental health and substance use focused trainings to perinatal practitioners. Check out our resource page!
