ACCESS Mental Health and Substance Use for Moms engages and enrolls obstetrical practices on a rolling basis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Pediatric providers<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202finclude those who provide well-child care in the first year of life (pediatricians, family physicians and nurse practitioners). <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Adult primary care providers<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202finclude internal and family medicine providers who practice general adult medicine. ACCESS Mental Health and Substance Use for Moms builds the capacity of PCPs to provide ongoing care for their patients during the postpartum period via expert perinatal psychiatric consultation and resource and referral support.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Adult psychiatric providers<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202finclude MDs, nurse practitioners and other prescribers in mental health or substance use treatment programs. ACCESS Mental Health and Substance Use for Moms builds the capacity of adult psychiatric providers to manage their patients who are planning to become pregnant or who are pregnant during treatment. The program provides expert consultation with a perinatal psychiatrist to facilitate careful and thoughtful decisions around management of psychiatric medications and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) during and after pregnancy.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ACCESS Mental Health and Substance Use for Moms builds the capacity of frontline perinatal providers to detect and manage depression and other mental health or substance use concerns that may arise among pregnant and postpartum patients regardless of insurance.
